Things To Note

Traffic in Uganda is different from that in the Western World, especially in Kampala. Traffic is chaotic, with many road users fighting to be the first ones to cross. Outside Kampala, traffic is quiet as there are less road users. The main focus of motorbike riders is not only other road users but also cows, goats and children. When one of these appear at a distance, please slow down and be careful.

Unforeseen Circumstances

Travelling by bike on roads where tourists normally don't pass is more adventurous. Keep in mind that a bike can breakdown, get a puncture or any other mechanical problem. A mechanic is in the backup car for such cases, he'll do his best to get the bike going as soon as possible. The route is planned before and tried by us to see how it is, but with the kind of dirty roads, it's possible that after heavy rain, the road is washed away and becomes impassable. In such a case we have to look for an alternative which may take longer and might lead to change in the planned route. Take this as an extra adventure and together we shall look for the best way to adjust to the situation.

Clothing / Motorbike Gear

Uganda is normally warm, while in the rain season it's still warm and humid. For the evenings you may need a sweater. On the gorilla tour you need warm clothing and a light rain jacket. Shoes for walking in the mountains are the best option for the gorilla tour. On the bike you need your own helmet, gloves, protection, strong riding clothes and strong shoes or bike boots. Don't forget some warm clothes for riding the bike, in some parts of Uganda it's cold in the morning.

Health

Ask your local health authority or your own doctor which immunisations are needed for Uganda. Malaria is very common here so preventive medication is necessary. Take also something against diarrhoea, change of diet can sometimes give some nasty reaction in the stomach. Also handy is some medicine against allergy.

Insurance

Make sure you have a (for Uganda) valid travel and medical insurance. Carry the important telephone numbers for any emergency. Before taking off for the trip we ask everybody to hand in a list of import telephone numbers which we can call in case of an emergency. Damages on the motorbike have to be paid for by the rider (as a result of reckless driving or falling) at the end of the trip.

Travel documents

Make sure all the necessary travel documents are valid, we don't take any responsibility for these documents. Passport should be valid. Visa will be bought at the airport on arrival (at the moment $50 per person). Driving license should be an International Permit or any country License and valid for the period of the safari. Valid immunisation card/booklet should have the stamps for the necessary immunisations.

Other Travel Means In a Vehicle.

If you wish to travel far and fast, travel light with optimism.take off all your envies jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness and fears and don't believe what others tell you especially if they have never attempted what you wish to do,to travel is to discover that everyone was wrong about the other countries.Your safari to Uganda will sustain the livelihood of our families for a better living.

When comparing safari prices with several agencies you will experience shock,Uganda with a developing ideology is not a cheap destination especially if you are going to deal with agents as travel consultants.i would like to consider your choice to invest in a safari worthwhile.

This is a breakdown of your would be investment.

A safari to Uganda is real adventure the final price is brought about by:

  • Duration.
  • Location of An attraction.
  • Standard of accommodation.
  • Number of travelers.
  • Season of the year.
  • Optional activities.

A 5 day group safari of 5 people will definitely be cheaper per person than a 6  day luxury safari for two people.

Duration-The longer you plan your stay the higher the price, unless your Uganda handler can arrange a tight schedule for a shorter itinerary for those on a budget.A longer trip for less money could lower your standard of accommodation and bringing  along additional people.

what do you think? Go here your travel planner can arrange a fair priced budget trip

Standard of Accommodation

Accommodation contributes the greatest percentage of your final cost of your Uganda safari, from safari tents, camping tents affordable lodges, luxury lodges. I can prepare a quote using budget, medium and luxury accommodations,i can as well provide you with a mix of different styles to tailor the experience to your tastes and budget.

Number of Travelers

one person on their own is not only paying for their park entry fees and accommodation but also bears full cost of car ,driver, fuel.

The number of people sharing a vehicle is a huge factor in deciding the per person cost of  a safari,so 5 people sharing a van are splitting the cost five ways & enjoy a  much lower per person cost.

National park location.

Not all parks are situated in the same location, others have much more attractions to do thus charge a much higher fee than others.others are much more far in distance than others .traveling to kidepo national park the journey covers a longer distance on land than it is if one opted for Murchison falls National park.

Optional Activities:

  • Night game drives.
  • Guided walking safaris.
  • food, night life and cultural experiences.
  • Hot air Balloon safari.
  • Private Air transfers.

Time of the year.

During the peak seasons of June-September and December-February is the time when hotels are in full power to receive guests,so if you want save on your safari consider visiting between march-may & October-November.this is the time for a rainy season, but rains don't affect much of your safari if you are not gorilla tracking.

Extra costs of a Uganda safari.

while our quotes cover the essentials such as meals accommodation, park entry fees, game drives, transfers.there are a few things you will need to budget for in addition like:

  • International flights.
  • Travel insurance.
  • Laundry services.
  • Souvenirs & snacks.
  • Tips.
The Grand total.

When you include international flights to the cost of your safari it can look like a sizable investment .the cost of a Uganda safari is certainly not cheap but worth a consideration for it will leave you endless memories for years.
